I totally agree Anne. Approaching people personally the way the coach did is a great WARM way to connect. We are in an age where we are social networking and it shouldn't be scary to approach those that have 'opt-ed in' in some very personal way.. i.e. a follow up call! Love that she took the time to hear your voice and connect with you the 20th century way!

Great post, as always! I'm sharing on my Facebook page!

Thanks for the comment Dan. Love the Blake quote and agree that salesy and manipulative are annoying. I think that some people feel that to ask is to risk being annoying, or presumptuous (annoyiing) and it's just those beliefs I'm uncovering and realizing that when people have something that I want - I'll pay and not feel annoyed. Truthfully I have a suspicion that I could ask a whole lot more and still not be annoying or know that people who will be interested won't be annoyed. That whole thing of facing rejection and looking foolish or having been told to sit down and shut up - impedes progress which, for me, involves asking. A work in progress. xxAnne

There is a proverb, by Blake, that "all wholesome food is caught without a net or trap." When somebody using devices, like a hunter after prey, it is annoying. And, unfortunately, much sales training is focused on how to make somebody do what you want them to do instead of what the two of you can do, together, for mutual benefit. That's annoying.

I love your vivid attitude towards dealing with resistence!

I find that negatively, like all things, likes company. So if I chose to be positve, positve energy finds me vs. negative energy, people and places.

Great post Anne! ;)

This is excellent! You make some great points here that I will really remember and use. My favorite is the light and fun way you can turn resistance around by looking at it as a dance!!

Super cool and so much more powerful!
Thanks!!

Sounds like you have your priorities and as the post you pointed me to on twitter said - what's the purpose, why are you blogging? I like your posts - comfortable, down to earth, reading with real value. Maybe rather than putting yourself last - it's saving the best for last! It's a work in progress for me and why I joined the 30 day blog challenge - I love to write, want to invite conversation, build a 'following', pay more attention, invite people to subscribe, sign up for ezine and become clients. It's also a great way for me to 'see' what rising to the top of my thought soup. Thanks for commenting - I'll return the favor.

My weeks seem to fly by, and on my priority list...well it is last.

Clients' work (and their blogs) come first, as do meetings, speeches, my new book...and then, when I have time (or think of something I want to say), I post.

It is like counting myself last. Also, some blog posts don't get any comments and then I think...why bother?

Ronda - Good luck on your challenge - it is as simple as that - do what you need to do to be where you want to be - I'm rooting for us all. xxAnne

Thanks Evelyn for your comment - I think there's a lot of power in acknowledging where we are (a blog or to behind), taking stock and deciding what to do - even as I write this reply I picture a mini tidal wave of undone things, catching up, piles - clearly this is a juicy topic for - with a cure consisting of presence, attitude and then strategy - like anything and everything. xxAnne

Good to see you are still in the challenge - I think you have a great attitude, and I love the comparisons you made to other times in life when we get a bit behind or don't do things "perfectly." Promises kept - has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
Thanks for the honest post!
